TV stars, eh? When interviewed, they’re all the best of friends and love working with each other. They frequently throw out soubriquets like “we’re family” and “we have great energy on set.” But what if the truth is a little darker? That’s the reality explored by The Wright Girls, which has Gemma Arterton in negotiations to star.

**Easy A **writer Bert Royal has written the script, with the basic concept inspired by Japanese pic 2LDK. The plot finds two young actresses who share a house and are co-stars on a successful TV show. In the press and to the outside world, they appear to be besties, but in reality, they secretly hate each other. The tension boils over when they compete for a choice film role.

Arterton has nabbed one of the leads, with the other still to be cast, though Megan Fox’s name was thrown around a few months ago.

Andy Fickman, who is better known for lighter fare such as She’s The Man, The Game Plan and Race To Witch Mountain, is on board to direct. While his recent output hasn’t been all that inspiring (especially You Again), this does at least harken back to Reefer Madness in terms of the subversive possibilities.

Arterton was last seen in** Tamara Drewe **and will appear in Neil Jordan’s Byzantium at some point this year, followed by next year’s Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters.
