Last week, Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz took to Twitter to announce that not only had he "remixed" the divisive, story-splitting Season 4 into a more conventional form, but that Season 5 would be coming sooner than we all thought. Thanks to a new trailer, we now know he meant the end of this month.
The fifth season, which promises to follow the original format from the off, finds the family reunited once again (Jason Bateman's Michael is naturally more than a little unwilling) as Lindsay (Portia de Rossi) runs for Congress to become "part of the problem". And the Bluths are also getting an award for Family Of The Year – handed out, of course, by themselves.
In other hand matters, Buster (Tony Hale) has a new robotic appendage and Tobias (David Cross) is overusing his in an attempt to portray Michael. Clearly that acting bug is still biting. More controversially from a real-world standpoint is Jeffrey Tambor's continued presence, despite allegations of sexual harassment and his firing from Transparent.
Arrested Development will be back, and hopefully at the top of its game, on 29 May.
