We like to think that Jason Bateman would never lie to us. He was in Teen Wolf Too; he was amazing in Arrested Development and some of the Empire team even made an effort to laugh during The Ex, while all others were loudly sighing or leaving. OK, we may have made him whistle 'Happy Birthday' once in an interview, leading to awkwardness, but we think that's behind us. We thought we had a bond. So surely he wouldn't lie to us about the existence of the Arrested Development movie? Would he?
Bateman has been calling the movie as good as greenlit all over Hollywood and we've been squeeing with every mention. So, why did Michael Cera and David Cross, fellow stars of Best Sitcom Of The Decade, tell Cinematical that they've heard nothing of the movie?
"Is this true? Really? Well [Jason Bateman] would probably know more about it than I would." Cera said when the movie was mentioned. When asked if he'd reprise his role as cousin-lover George Michael, he answered, "Um, yeah, I think so. Yeah, I would love to do it ... it'd be fun." Cross, who plays creepy 'never nude' Tobias, added, "As long as I don't have to paint myself blue or wear a fatsuit, I'd love to [do it]. I would do that in a heartbeat. That was a really fun character to do, and it'd be great to work with all those guys again. I'd do it in a second."
So, is this happening or not? We need to know!
