Aronofsky Gives Lost Direction

We’ve been waiting patiently for Darren Aronofsky to unveil his millennium-spanning romantic sci-fi epic The Fountain. Now we have an idea what’s taking him so long: He’s been watching Lost.

And he's now agreed to direct an episode of the show. "It was one of those fantastic calls out of the blue," Lost executive producer Carlton Cuse has explained to Entertainment Weekly. "His agents let us know he liked the show, and we jumped at the opportunity. Apparently, he had been watching Lost while up in Montreal shooting The Fountain and got hooked."

Don’t worry, though: Aronofsky will complete The Fountain first. "We scheduled it so that [the episode] is coming on the heels of finishing the film. And we will try to put together a story that will be well-suited for Darren's talents and visual imagination."
