We've been hearing for a few months about Arnold Schwarzenegger's latest project – a TV spy adventure series that will see the action veteran playing father to a daughter involved in secret missions. Now we know that Netflix have snapped up the rights to the show.

Monica Barbaro (to be seen this year in Top Gun: Maverick) will play that daughter, in a story that finds that they’ve each secretly been working as CIA Operatives for years. They realize their entire relationship has been a lie and they truly don’t know one another at all, but events conspire to have them team up as partners.

Nick Santora, who ran TV drama Scorpion and worked on the recent, short-lived adaptation of The Fugitive on Quibi, will oversee the show, produced by Skydance Television.

"Fans from all over the world have been asking me for a wild ride like this for years, and now they’re finally going to get it because of our great partners at Skydance and Netflix," says Schwarzenegger. "I am beyond pumped to start work on the show with Nick and Monica and the whole team."

Ironically, this is the same Schwarzenegger who attended an event on Wednesday announcing that cinema is back in a big way. Fortunately for him, he'll appear in the Kung Fury film at some point this year...
