Stanley Tucci, then. All-round dude, style icon and the best thing by far about later Transformers movies. He's also, when the mood strikes him, and the financing is in place, a director. His latest, Final Portrait, has its trailer on display.
Set in Paris in 1964, the film finds Armie Hammer as James Lord, an art lover and dealer who is asked by his friend, world-famous artist Alberto Giacometti (Geoffrey Rush), to sit for a portrait. Though he had planned to leave the city the next day, Lord agrees.
But though Giacometti had promised the artwork would only take a few days, the artist's own creative demons mean the session stretches on, and in the process the friendship is explored and, occasionally, challenged.
With Tucci on both writing and directing duty here, the cast also includes Clémence Poésy, Tony Shalhoub and Sylvie Testud. Final Portrait will be in UK cinemas from 18 August.
