It was just this past weekend that news broke of Kenneth Branagh finding the first additional cast member for his next Agatha Christie adaptation Death On The Nile in Gal Gadot. Today, Deadline brings word that Armie Hammer will also be starring.
With Murder On The Orient Express' Michael Green once again on script duty, the story this time sees Poirot investigating a murder during a luxurious cruise on the Nile River that he just happens to be on. But just as he identifies a motley collection of would-be killers, several of the suspects also meet their demise, which only deepens the mystery.
Hammer's role isn't specified in the report, though it seems likely he'll be Simon Doyle, who struck up an affair with Gadot's Linnet Ridgeway Doyle when he was engaged to her best friend. After the pair marries, the former friend tracks them down...
Death Of The Nile will sail into UK cinemas on 3 January 2020. As for Hammer, he'll be seen in Sorry To Bother You, finally making it here on 7 December and On The Basis Of Sex, due on 4 January next year.
