For most of his time in the DCEU, Aquaman – or, Arthur Curry – has donned leather trousers and… not much else. Zack Snyder’s vision of the underwater superhero strayed considerably from the comic book’s original orange and green get-up. But if you thought James Wan was going to ignore that look in his upcoming Aquaman solo film, the new extended trailer has a surprise for you.

Befitting its five-minute runtime, the new trailer reveals plenty more from the next DC standalone adventure – including a couple of extended sequences. One sees Jason Momoa’s Aquaman and Amber Heard’s Mera doing a spot of tomb raiding, and another finds the pair escaping from villain Black Manta in a rooftop chase. If that doesn’t sound very sub-aquatic, there’s also plenty of armoured sharks and seahorses here too. Oh, and as you’ll see above we finally get a glimpse of Momoa all kitted out in a version of the classic Aquaman costume.

There’s just over two months to wait until Aquaman splashes its way into UK cinemas – we’ll get it one week earlier than the States when it hits our screens on 14 December.
