In line with the insane speed of the entire project, a mere two weeks after production was announced, here's a poster for the found-footage aliens-on-the-moon flick **Apollo 18.
Simple but effective, it's one small step for man, and another similar step for something else with three bony toes, plus the ominous tagline "There's a reason we've never gone back to the moon". Apollo 18, of course, was the moon mission that got cancelled in 1970 due to Congressional cuts and safety concerns. Except, according to the film, it wasn't cancelled at all...
There's some viral video action too, with Devin Faraci's Badass Digest (among others) picking up this "unscheduled transmission" from Apollo 20 (so is this a series of missions, rather than just the one?) poring over a rather waxy looking "Mona Lisa" extraterrestrial biological entity.
Timur Bekmambetov is producing, with Gonzales Lopez-Gallego (King of the Hill - the great Spanish thriller, not the cartoon) directing. Given the pace this thing is moving at, he's probably already sitting with his feet up in the editing suite. Apollo 18, with a view to beating Oren Peli's **Area 51 into cinemas, is due out in March 2011.
