Year One, Judd Apatow's next movie as producer, has added another five people to its cast. Among them are Oliver Platt, David Cross, Vinnie Jones and Juno Temple. But most excitingly, the film has given another employment opportunity to Superbad's McLovin, known to his mum as Christopher Mintz-Plasse. Or probably just Chris, unless he's been naughty.
Year One, which will feature Jack Black and Michael Cera in the leads and is directed by Harold Ramis, is a comedy set in biblical times. Platt is set to play a platform shoe-wearing high priest (is that the best character description you've ever heard?); Jones head palace guard Sargon. Mintz-Plasse, Cross and Temple's roles are undefined.
We suspect, though hope we're wrong, that Mintz-Plasse will be one of those comedy talents who's hard to find roles for because he has such a specific look, i.e. school geek. So we'll be relying on Apatow to keep him in work until he's old enough to play the lead in another remake of The Nutty Professor.
