Jane Austen is one of those authors that filmmakers just can't stop themselves adapting, and there have already been a wealth of both TV and movie versions of her work. The flood isn't stopping any time soon, and Anya Taylor-Joy is attached to star in yet another take on Emma.

Autumn de Wilde, who has come up through photography and making music videos, will use the film as her feature directorial debut, with Eleanor Catton on board to script the adaptation.

Austen's 1815 novel is a comedy of manners that follows the titular young Emma Woodhouse meddling in others' romantic affairs in an attempt to play matchmaker. Working Title is backing this new effort, but there are no details yet on when it might shoot.

And in related Austen/Emma news, Deadline brings the news that Paramount is looking to remake Clueless, the 1995 that drew from the original story. Girls Trip writer Tracy Oliver is on to produce the new film, while Glow's Marquita Robinson will handle the actual scripting duties.

Alicia Silverstone starred in the original as superficial, but well-intentioned teen Cher Horowitz who is trying to find love while living life with her curmudgeon litigator father played by Dan Hedaya. It went on to spawn a TV series, an incoming musical and, now, because everything seems to, a redo. What will the angle be for this one? Will any of the original cast appear? Those are questions for a future date, as it's far too early in the new movie's development for solid answers...
