Michael Cristofer, director of the forthcoming Original Sin, has spoken out about the steamy sex scenes between stars Antonio Banderas and Angelina Jolie. Cristofer told The Observer about his difficulties in getting the film passed with the sex scenes intact. "I'm stupid, because I think people should have movies about things important to them, and sex and death would be high on that list. It is a battle to get that on the screen." The director, who had previously worked with Jolie on Gia, was full of praise for Banderas and his willingness to get intimate in the line of duty, calling him a "consummate professional". Cristofer added "He's done every kind of sex from bondage to gay sex to heterosexual". Original Sin is a thriller set in the 1900s about a femme fatale (Jolie) and her disruptive influence on the life of her Cuban husband. It's due for a British release later this year.
