There's some casting news for the next Halloween film, as Variety brings word that Anthony Michael Hall will take the role of Tommy Doyle in Halloween Kills.
Doyle has an interesting history with the franchise. In the 1978 original, he's one of the kids that Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) babysits (check out the first image, of Brian Andrews with Curtis, below), then Paul Rudd took the part in 1995's Halloween: The Curse Of Michael Myers (scroll the gallery to find him). He helped Donald Pleasance's Dr. Loomis take down Michael Myers

Collider's Jeff Schneider first brought word of the Doyle character returning for the new movie, mentioning that the Blumhouse team had offered Rudd the option of playing him once more, but that the actor's duties on Jason Reitman's Ghostbusters film caused a scheduling clash. Also, there must've been concerns that Rudd wouldn't look like he's gotten any older...
David Gordon Green is back to co-write (with Danny McBride and Scott Teems) and direct Halloween Kills, shooting back-to-back with follow-up Halloween Ends. Kills is scheduled to arrive on 16 October 2020, with Ends a year later. Whether the Doyle character appears in both remains to be seen.
