The actor, who is about to grace our screens as Sam Wilson in Captain America: The Winter Solider is in negotiations for Hillcoat's thriller. There's no mention in Variety's report about what part he'll play, but he'll appear alongside Harrelson, Casey Affleck, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kate Winslet, Aaron Paul, Gal Gadot and Teresa Palmer.

Matt Cook wrote the script, which finds a group of crooked cops blackmailed into pulling off a complicated heist. In order to distract attention from their crime, they plan to attack a rookie cop (Affleck), who then swears revenge against his former colleagues. The title, in case you were wondering, refers to the LAPD code for an officer requiring immediate assistance.

Hillcoat had troubles getting the movie financed and, for one incarnation, had his Lawless star Shia LaBeouf set to star. No one would complain about the current line-up, which he'll begin wrangling this year for a 2015 release. Mackie, meanwhile, will be taking to the skies for the new Cap film, which arrives on March 28. He's also in Paul Bettany's directorial debut, Shelter.
