As reported a couple of months ago, the team behind the excellent cancer dramedy 50/50 - stars Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and director Jonathan Levine - are reuniting for a still-untitled Christmas comedy. They now look set to be joined by Anthony Mackie, who's in advanced talks about signing up.
Levine has written the script for the new film, which involves three childhood friends reuniting in New York for their annual Christmas Eve blowout. Gordon-Levitt and Rogen are once more playing pals and Mackie is presumably the third part of their triumvirate. Nothing more has been revealed about the plot, but we’d expect Santa to figure in there somewhere.
The film is underway at Sony, produced by the team at Good Universe (who were formerly known as Mandate Pictures and had a hand in** 50/50**). Cameras should be rolling this summer.
Mackie and Rogen are currently on UK cinema screens in, respectively, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Bad Neighbours. We'll next see Gordon-Levitt in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, out on August 29.
