While the Ant-Man movies have usually had a lighter touch than even some of their Marvel fellows, the third instalment in Scott Lang’s trilogy, Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania, appears to be headed into darker than usual territory, as it properly introduces Jonathan Majors’ Kang The Conqueror (hitherto only seen as He Who Remains in Loki) into the equation. Get a better look at the MCU's new Big Bad in the latest trailer below…
When Ant-Man himself, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and daughter Cassie (here played by Kathryn Newton) invent a gadget to send signals into the Quantum Realm, a technical mishap seems to lead to them both, plus Hope "Wasp" Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) entering the sub-atomic plane themselves. Which is where Kang comes in; and from the look of this new trailer, tries to make a deal with Scott to bring him what he wants, for the gift of time missed with Cassie due to The Snap given to him in return. We get a clearer idea of Kang’s powers here, too, with Janet explaining that he can “rewrite existence” and “shatter timelines. That… doesn’t sound great. Can Marvel’s tiniest hero defeat its biggest threat to the multiverse as we know it?
Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania will be in cinemas on 17 February.
