“About damn time.” That’s what Hope Van Dyne had to say when she finally got a glimpse of the Wasp costume in the post-credit sting of Ant-Man, and it’s a sentiment that audiences echoed. Now she’s getting title billing in this summer’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, suiting up alongside Scott Lang for the sequel.

And that co-headline slot is indicative of how much of a major role she plays, explains director Peyton Reed. “It was important to me, in this movie called Ant-Man and the Wasp, that she’s not a supporting character,” he told Empire in the new issue. “She’s a lead character. She’s become a fully-formed hero.” We’ve got a look at the Wasp in action in a stunning piece of concept art, laying a smackdown on a biking assailant.
