Marvel and Disney are not shy about spinning off products and other items from their movies; both companies are all about the ancillaries. So both are hoping that Ant-Man becomes a big hit, as a tie-in novel called Natural Enemy is on the way{
Following in the footsteps of Avengers: Everybody Wants To Rule The World and Rocket Raccoon & Groot: Steal The Galaxy, the novel will expand upon the world explored in Peyton Reed’s film. Crime novelist Jason Starr has been hired to craft a book that finds Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang as an ex-con single father looking to start a fresh life in a new city with his teenage daughter, Cassie.
“Whether you’re an Ant-Man fan, or looking to experience a new story featuring the breakout character of 2015, this novel is going to be an exciting thrill ride from cover to cover,” says Marvel in a statement. 2015 hasn’t even dawned yet, and they’re already calling Lang the breakout – big, brave words there, especially given the film’s chequered history and its status as even more of a gamble than Guardians Of The Galaxy.
The film, of course, finds Rudd’s Lang recruited by Michael Douglas; Hank Pym to pull off a job that will save lives instead of scoring loot. The book will hit shelves on June 3, 2015 before the movie arrives on July 17.
