We've already seen a hack-haired and rather hacked-off looking Kristen Stewart getting her rock on on-set, but a new member of Joan Jett's band of babes has been announced - with Rob Zombie favourite Scout Taylor-Compton stepping into the platforms of teen lead guitarist Lita Ford.

The Runaways, which has already begun filming in Los Angeles, under the watchful eye of director Floria Sigismondi, had only a handful of cast confirmed up until this point. Dakota Fanning is set to play extravagant lead-singer Cherie Currie, and Oscar nominee Michael Shannon will be the band's manager and rock svengali Kim Fowler. Gossip Girl teen Stella Maeve will pick up the sticks as drummer Sandy West, leaving only the host of fly-by-night bassists who didn't last so long as still to be announced.

Taylor-Compton - best known for revivng Jamie Lee Curtis' role of Laurie Strode in Rob Zombie's new Halloween and upcoming **Halloween II **- was originally rumoured to play one of said bass players, Jackie Fox, while newcomer Alessandra Torresani was up for was the role of Lita Ford. Oh, the changeable line-ups of rock bands!

The Runaways is due for cinemas sometime in 2010.
