The bewildering onslaught of trailers and TV spots for the new Riddick continues this morning, with this new green-band affair, which is basically just a milder version of the footage we were shown at Comic-Con the other week. Vin Diesel is chained up and threatened with a machete (not the Danny Trejo one - maybe that's in Riddick 4), and there are mud demons outside. But it's all in day's work for the famous Furyan, and he doesn't seem overly concerned.
Incidentally, this clip contains spoilers about the fates of at least two characters. So, y'know, we warned you.
Again, this is a clear illustration of Riddick's back-to-Pitch Black approach. It's violent, and it's obviously a much more contained story than the sprawling Chronicles. And come on, that bit where Diesel is laughing in his chains is just awesome. Dave Bautista, soon to be Drax The Destroyer in Guardians Of The Galaxy, gets a cool and amusing line too.
This is also the very scene that Empire watched unfold on the film's Montreal set last year. For more on that, pick up our latest issue, currently on the shelves and the iPad.
Riddick is out in the UK on September 4.
