Details on Ridley Scott's upcoming sci-fi (and purported Alien prequel) Prometheus have been few and far between, but now Entertainment Weekly have got fresh images and details from Scott's set.
Boasting the acting talents of Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Noomi Rapace, Guy Pearce, Ben Foster and Michael Fassbender (as an android), the castlist alone would be enough to get people paying attention, but as it's from the man who brought us the original Alien, fanboys are conjecturing their keyboards off trying to draw links between the much-loved franchise and this new sci-fi epic.
“There’s definitely a link to Alien,” says Fassbender. “There are creatures in it that you’ll recognise...”
The image that EW have released onto the web looks, well, very weirdly photoshopped, with the lights around the characters' suits providing a perfect lampshade for the retouching that seems to have gone on.

But really, that's not important. What's important is the atmosphere and the obvious high-budget design that's going on -- some reports have said the cost of the movie is upwards from $200 million -- and, you know, that damn big face behind them in what's known as “The Ampule Room.”
Just in case you were wondering, the picture shows lovers Holloway (Logan Marshall-Green doing a good impersonation of Tom Hardy) and Elizabeth (Noomi Rapace) walking through The Ampule Room alongside their robot butler - of a sort - David (Michael Fassbender) on the planet their ship has crash landed on.
It's all very mystical, it's all very cosmic, it's all very mysterious. In other words... let the guesswork begin! Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
Prometheus will be out in cinemas come summer 2012.
