Christ, Sly, make up your frickin’ mind!
Yes, folks, Rambo IV has changed its name – again. If you’ve been following Empire over the past few months, you’ll know that it went from In The Serpent’s Eye to Pearl Of The Cobra to Moon Unit Rambo to The Movie Formerly Known As Rambo IV and then our favourite, the plain, the stark, the simple… John Rambo.
But now Sly Stallone and Lionsgate have had another rethink and now it’s called – drum roll, please…
Rambo To Hell And Back.
Yeah, we’re a bit underwhelmed by it as well. But we’re sure the movie itself will kick all kinds of ass. The plot, in case you missed it, sees Rambo go to Burma and, in a remarkably topical move that shows incredible prescience on writer/director Sly’s part, start killing a whole lot of soldiers in an attempt to rescue some kidnapped relief workers.
We were big fans of Stallone’s previous comeback movie, Rocky Balboa, and hope that this continues his upward career trajectory.
However, at this rate, we won’t believe that Rambo IV is called anything until we’re sat in the cinema with our popcorn in one hand, and that little pen with the light on the top in the other, and the title flashes up on screen.
And even then, we’ll still have our suspicions...
