Does today have a Y in it? Than it must be time for a new Conan trailer. This latest teaser has just debuted on the UK Conan the Barbarian Facebook page.
Each of the trailers we've seen so far has served a particular purpose. The first was a bit of an overview, with lots of quick-cut action and scene-setting, while the second was slightly more concerned with the story and the characters.
This one's all about the violence, and seems deliberately targeted at the people who are still asking if this Conan is going to be a PG-13. The answer is a growled 'No, foolish cur!'. Lionsgate have reiterated time and again that Conan 2011 is all about the R rating, and here's the evidence to back it up. Give the facepage a 'like' and you'll be treated to blood splashing hither and yon, some brief nudity, and Conan using a severed head to hit people. Does it get any better than that?
**Conan **stars Jason Momoa as the titular Cimmerian adventurer, with Stephen Lang as villain Khalar Zym, Rose McGowan as Marique the witch, Rachel Nichols as fighting nun Tamara, and Ron Perlman as Conan's fada. Marcus Nispel, directed it, it's out in the UK on August 26, and there'll be some exciting preview-age at Empire**'s Big Screen, which runs from August 12-14.
