As it continues to crack open its hefty wallet to attract big names in the battle of the streaming services, Amazon's offering has announced a star-studded cast and set of talent behind the camera for new anthology series Modern Love. The likes of Anne Hathaway, Tina Fey, Dev Patel, Catherine Keener and Sofia Boutella are all aboard.
The eight-episode show will draw from the New York Times Column and associated podcast, which, as the title might lead you to suspect, explores love in all its modern facets. also in the cast for episodes will be John Slattery, Andy Garcia, Cristin Milioti, Brandon Victor Dixon, Olivia Cooke, Andrew Scott, Julia Garner, Shea Whigham and John Gallagher, Jr.
Once and Sing Street director John Carney is on to run the show and handle at least one episode, while Emmy Rossum, Sharon Horgan and Tom Hall are all set to call the shots. "It’s like I woke up in the actor candy store," says Carney. "We’ve managed to assemble a dream cast of my favorite actors. It’s a testament to the reach of the original column and of how, now more than ever, love is the only certainty."
With shooting under way in New York, we'd expect the show to hit the service next year.
