Anne Hathaway has taken her time choosing a follow-up to Les Miserables. Aside from a small role in Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Don Jon, she hadn’t lined up any committed acting jobs. But that’s changed as she’s now making a deal to star with Chloe Grace Moretz and Sam Rockwell in Lynn Shelton’s Laggies.

Shelton’s latest film finds Megan (Hathaway) as a young woman who refuses to grow up. When her boyfriend (Scott Pilgrim’s Mark Webber, assuming he signs) proposes, she freaks out and tells him she’s going on a career retreat.

Instead, she hides out for a week with 16 year-old Annika (Moretz), her new bezzie mate, with whom, we assume, she gets into scrapes and japes and dabbles in smoking, or steals a horse. You know, youth stuff.

As for Rockwell, Deadline’s report has him playing a guy named Craig in the film, but offers no details beyond that. We’re just glad to see him, and hope he gets to dance at some point.

Shelton, who directed Your Sister’s Sister, was at Sundance with her latest, Touchy Feely. Hathaway has one other confirmed project in the works, reprising the role of Jewel in Blue Sky’s Rio sequel. Moretz is back as Hit-Girl in** Kick-Ass 2** (due 19 July) and will then be seen in the new Carrie, out November 29.
