Lost In Translation meets Godzilla? That’s a film we’d see, especially if it was a Bill Murray-starring sequel. Which is why we’re intrigued by the prospect of Colossal**, which has just snagged Anne Hathaway to star{ =nofollow}.

Timecrimes director Nacho Vigalondo is the mind behind this one, cooking up the story of a woman named Gloria (Hathaway), who after losing her job and her fiancé, decides to ditch life in New York and return to her hometown.

But then she starts to realise that the giant lizard attacks on Tokyo she sees in news reports might just be linked to her, through the power of her mind. To try to prevent further chaos, she’ll have to discover just how and why her seemingly insignificant life is impacting the world to such a massive degree.

"Colossal is my most ambitious script so far, and probably also the most personal one. Having Anne and this terrific team around goes beyond my craziest expectations," Vigalondo tells The Hollywood Reporter. He has Voltage Pictures on board to finance and start selling the project to potential buyers in Cannes. We’d expect this one to drum up plenty of interest.

Hathaway will next be seen in The Intern (out October 2) and Alice In Wonderland sequel Through The Looking Glass, which arrives on May 27 next year.
