Given his oft-scathing comments (and endless jokes) about having voiced Garfield in the two movies about the lasagne-loving cat, we're surprised to see Bill Murray signing on to lend his pipes to another critter. But apparently director Aaron Schneider, who wrangled him for Get Low, has convinced him to join Bum's Rush alongside Anne Hathaway.

Schneider, is working from a script by Get Low collaborator C. Gaby Mitchell, which will see Hathaway as Pearl, a highly skilled custom boot maker. Her path crosses with a singular stray dog Bum (with Murray's voice), and the two highly independent souls find themselves at a serious crossroads, one that will change both their hearts and minds in ways they can hardly imagine.

Get Low star Robert Duvall is also in talks to join up, and Schneider is looking to shoot in New Mexico and Santa Barbara. The director's latest film, Tom Hanks-starring World War II drama Greyhound, is premiering on Apple TV+ on 10 July.
