With its characters in place thanks to casting Zac Efron and Adam DeVine, comedy pic Mike And Dave Need Wedding Dates is now looking for the “dates” of the titles. One has been found in the shape of the quantifiably funny Anna Kendrick{
Efron and DeVine are set as a sibling duo who, in a tale snatched from a real-life event, put up an ad on Craigslist in an attempt to find dates for a wedding. The immature party animals end up with two beautiful women who are crazier than they are, and chaos ensues. Kendrick will be one of the women they meet, a wild child with a sweetly romantic nature who clicks with Efron’s character.
Jake Szymanski, a veteran of Funny Or Die’s online output, is in the director’s chair for the film, scripted by Bad Neighbors’ Andrew J. Cohen and Brendan O’Brien.
Kendrick is shooting wedding comedy Table 19 right now, but will next be seen in musical adaptation The Last Five Years, which is out here on April 17. The tunes continue for Pitch Perfect 2, arriving May 15. And she’s also worked on The Hollars, Mr. Right and** The Accountant**, which finds her co-starring with Ben Affleck and will be on our screens next year.
