Before she was part of the Twilight films, seen warbling in Pitch Perfect and Into The Woods or nabbing Oscar nominations for Up In The Air, Anna Kendrick was working steadily in the smaller indie likes of Camp and Rocket Science. She’s reuniting with Jeffrey Blitz, the writer/director of the latter, for his new film** Table 19.
Kendrick heads a cast that also includes Craig Robinson, Lisa Kudrow, Stephen Merchant, Tony Revolori, June Squibb, Wyatt Russell and Amanda Crew in the story of a group of strangers relegated to the misfits table at a destination wedding. With the cast in place, Blitz is ready to kick off shooting next week in Atlanta.
**Rocket Science **was a big boost for both of them, with Blitz picking up the directing award at Sundance and a nomination for the Grand Jury Prize, before later landing several Independent Spirit Award nominations.
Kendrick will next show up in musical adaptation** The Last Five Years**, which is out here on April 17. The tunes continue for Pitch Perfect 2, arriving May 15. And she’s also worked on The Hollars, Mr. Right and The Accountant, which finds her co-starring with Ben Affleck and will be on our screens next year.
