As Rob Marshall journeys deeper into casting territory for his new adaptation of Stephen Sondheim’s musical** Into The Woods**, the ensemble just gets richer and deeper. The latest name to enter talks? **Pitch Perfect’**s Anna Kendrick{
If she makes a deal, she’ll be playing Cinderella in the movie musical, which, likes the original play, is based on a mash up of fairy tales that proves not all endings are happy.
James Corden and Emily Blunt are a childless baker couple, who risk travelling into the titular woods in an attempt to lift a family curse put upon them by a nasty witch (Meryl Streep).
Along the way, they meet a variety of fantasy characters played by the likes of Johnny Depp, Jake Gyllenhaal, Tracy Ullman, Christine Baranski and Chris Pine, who is set as the vain prince married to Cinders. According to Deadline,** Les Miserables'**Daniel Huttlestone is also in negotiation for a role.
Like the pint-sized Miserables co-star, Kendrick is also no stranger to belting out tunes. Before she sang for her supper in Pitch Perfect, she was performing in Broadway musicals. She’s also currently working on Richard LaGravenese’s The Last Five Years, which is another tune-laden adaptation.
