People! If you are still looking for love, you should really do your due diligence and check whether the person you're seeing is a hired assassin. It’s that sort of rookie mistake that Anna Kendrick is lining up to make when she stars in Mr. Right alongside Sam Rockwell.
Director Paco Cabezas is calling the shots on this one, based on a script by Chronicle writer, Frankenstein scribe and Twitter troublemaker Max Landis. Kendrick plays a woman who has endured a long streak of bad luck when it comes to finding men. So she’s overjoyed to find a guy – Rockwell, we’re assuming, unless casting turns out otherwise – who seems to be perfect for her.
That, of course, is when the trouble starts: turns out her ideal bloke is a reformed hit man whose lethal past is about to catch up with him in a big way, and the couple’s fledgling relationship is put to the test as they figure out how to save each other. And here we thought it was tough enough when you discover one of you thinks Breaking Bad was “a bit overrated”…
Cabezas, who has Nic Cage action thriller Tokarev set for release sometime this year, will start the cameras rolling on the new film in the autumn.
Kendrick will next be seen in indie comedy drama The Last 5 Years and Rob Marshall’s new movie musical I****nto The Woods. She’s also signed up for Pitch Perfect 2. Rockwell has Laggies and the new Poltergeist remake awaiting release.
