Though the new Anna Kendrick/Bill Hader Christmas comedy Noelle was originally scheduled for a November cinema release this year, it has since been moved to premiere instead on the Disney+ service. Kendrick and fellow co-star Billy Eichner showed up at the company's D23 Expo to launch the first trailer.

The film, written and directed by Marc Lawrence, finds Kendrick as Noelle Kringle, daughter (as if you couldn't guess) of Santa. She's full of festive spirit, but it's her brother Nick (Hader) who is chosen as the next Father Christmas. Turns out, however, that he can't cope with the pressure, and disappears after she suggests he take a weekend off.

Though her cousin Gabriel (Eichner) is promoted from the tech department to replace him, Noelle decides to go and find Nick and bring him back in time to save Christmas. Will she succeed? You'll have to watch the movie to find out.

Noelle will launch on the Disney+ service in the US on 12 November, and the streaming system is due to launch in the UK next year.
