Movies about Wall Street are usually full of testosterone, with throaty, driven blokes hollering about trades and cash and stock and such. But here comes Equity with a different take and energy, one that has already been labelled "She-Wolves Of Wall Street." See the latest trailer below.
Anna Gunn, perhaps best known for Breaking Bad's conflicted Skylar, is the star here, playing senior investment banker Naomi Bishop. A dedicated, even ruthless veteran of the street, she's plunged into trouble from multiple angles when she's passed up for a promotion at her firm, and battles to handle taking a new start-up public, hoping that the promising stock move will help boost her career again. But when an employee raises questions about the new company, Naomi must decide whether to investigate rumors that may compromise the deal, or push forward with the confidence her superiors expect.
Soon she finds herself tangled in a web of deception and office politics and begins to question if there is anyone she can trust. As the IPO draws closer, Naomi sees that the choices she has made for her career have left her very much alone – forced to reexamine the rules of the cutthroat world she has always loved she finds herself in a fight for her very survival...
With James Purefoy, Sarah Megan Thomas, Alysia Reiner and Lee Tergesen also in the cast, Equity, directed by Meera Menon, will land in the UK on September 2.
