Anna Faris Plans Stalker Comedy

Ah, readers. Is there anything more amusing than being stalked by a crazed obsessive? Paramount thinks not, and has just picked up an idea from Anna Faris for an as-yet untitled comedy vehicle revolving around just that type of dodgy attention.

"Stalker comedy" of course makes us think of Amélie, but Faris will not be hounding an unsuspecting shmo around the streets of a fantasy Montmartre. The plot is being kept secret so far, but what's been revealed indicates that it's more of a Single White Female roomate-from-Hell scenario. It stems from an incident in Faris' real life which her reps, when they heard the anecdote, liked so much they turned it into a pitch.

Deanna Kizis (Camp Rules) is currently hammering the idea into a screenplay, along with Palak Patel (Snow White and the Huntsman), who's also co-producing with the ubiquitous Joe Roth. Next up for Faris is What's Your Number?, which is out in the autumn.
