You might not immediately recognise the name Angus Wall, but you've probably seen his work. A renowned film editor, he's worked repeatedly with David Fincher and won Oscars for The Social Network and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. And now he's making the move out of the editing suite and behind the camera, planning his first feature as a director. It's a thriller written by Source Code's Ben Ripley, and it's called **Empire{
Details of the exact plot are under wraps, but it seems likely that it will involve Chris Hewitt's Videoblogisode Man in his epic daily struggles with Dan Jolin's Kerfuffle Shuffler, an army of office mice, and mysterious henchperson The Hobnoblin. Haha, we will have our little joke. The real thrust is apparently something along the lines of The Usual Suspects and Safe House.
Without much to go on, it's tough to speculate what exactly is in store, but all that time working with Fincher must surely have been an exhaustive education, and he is, obviously, an expert in his own field and his own right. We can certainly expect a meticulously tight pace, and as one of its earliest exponents, it seems certain that Wall will shoot digitally.
