Though the most recent report about writer/director Taylor Sheridan had him working on an untitled action thriller with Chris Pratt aiming to star, it appears he's found something else to focus on while that film bubbles on the development stove. Sheridan has Angelina Jolie making a deal to take the lead in Those Who Wish Me Dead.
Sheridan adapted the script from Michael Koryta's 2016 novel, and while Deadline's report claims plot details are scarce, the book's story follows a teenager witnessing a violent crime and given a new identity in a protection programme. When the killers start to hunt him down, he'll have to rely on the people who run the local wilderness survival programme in the Montana mountains to keep him alive. It sounds like Jolie will play one of those making sure the kid doesn't get offed.
With the backing of production company BRON Studios, the film is looking to kick off shooting in May once Sheridan completes work on the second season of Kevin Costner-starring series Yellowstone.
Jolie has worked on Maleficent 2, due out in 2020, and has a voice role in live-action/CG movie The One And Only Ivan.
