Paramount is clearly looking to keep the Transformers factory churning out movies based on those robots in disguise. According to The Hollywood Reporter, director Angel Manuel Soto and writer Marco Ramirez have now landed a deal to develop a stand-alone film.
The details – given how early this is in development – are naturally being kept very quiet, but this will be something that exists outside of the ongoing TF films, with a seventh of those in the works from Creed II's Stephen Caple Jr.
It marks yet another movie now being figured out for the studio, with Toy Story 4's Josh Cooley hired to make an animated prequel set on Cybertron.
And this is the latest high-profile project that Charm City Kings director Soto is attached to – he's also involved in a new Blue Beetle film for Warner Bros./DC. As for Ramirez, he worked on Daredevil and oversaw The Defenders for Marvel TV back in the pre-MCU-on-TV days. He also worked on the more recent version of The Twilight Zone.
