Bad news if you were feverishly anticipating the pairing of Simon Pegg and David Tennant in John Landis' Burke And Hare, or looking forward to seeing the former Dr Who rob graves - he's had to drop out. But there's good news too: Andy Serkis is stepping into his shoes.
Yes, according to Pegg on Twitter, Tennant is out, but "by sheer glorious serendipity a legend of Middle Earth and Skull Island has come aboard. Welcome AS." Tennant most likely had to skip out due to his schedule filling up. He's scored the lead in US network show Rex Is Not Your Lawyer, and if that makes it past the pilot stage, it'lll keep him pretty busy.
Serkis and Pegg have just worked together, of course, as they were both part of Steven Spielberg's sprawling, performance-captured Tintin cast.
Now, assuming both stay attached, they'll be playing the legendary corpse-snatchers who sold their grave-robbed bodies to Scottish medical schools in the 19th Century. But when they ran out of an easy supply of the previously deceased, they turned to making their own.
Landis is in pre-production right now, with shooting set to start next week. With luck, we'll see his black comedy take on the tale later this year.
