While he's currently busy withAnimal Farm, Andy Serkis has also been looking at other projects. He's now on board to adapt Elizabeth McCracken’s novel The Giant's House.
Nick Hornby wrote the adaptation of the lauded 1996 novel. It follows Peggy Cort, a young librarian who prefers the company of books to people. When James — a very, very, tall young man — visits her library, the two embark on a journey neither could have predicted.
While the film has been in the works for a while, it has gotten a boost from Serkis' jumping aboard, and he'll also produce via his company Imaginarium Productions.
With word via Deadline that casting is now under way, it appears Serkis will work on this one at the same time as his Orwell adaptation.
