One of the stranger, and yet strangely fascinating films in the works at the moment is Sacha Gervasi's My Dinner With Hervé, which features the based-on-reality story of a journalist meeting Hervé Villechaize. It now has Andy Garcia playing Ricardo Montalbán.

Gervasi has been quietly trying to put together a film based around the unusual life of The Man With The Golden Gun and Fantasy Island's Villechaize with Peter Dinklage involved. After years working on it, they've finally got the backing of HBO Films and Jamie Dornan aboard to co-star.

Gervasi will direct the film based on his own script, itself fuelled by his experiences interviewing Villechaize and a story he wrote with Sean Macaulay. My Dinner With Hervé takes place during one wild night in Hollywood as struggling journalist Danny Tate (Dornan) meets Villechaize and the encounter changes them both.

Garcia faces the challenge of bringing to life the Fantasy Island star Montalbán, a whirlwind of charisma with a wild mane of hair and a reputation for big performances. It's no his only upcoming job, as he's also about to start shooting a main role in drama Ana.
