More details have emerged on Paul Thomas Anderson’s highly anticipated next film.
Anderson has already announced that his follow-up to Punch-Drunk Love will be There Will Be Blood, based on Upton Sinclair’s 1927 novel Oil, an expose of greedy Southern California prospectors.
Now, he’s starting to gather a cast. Daniel Day-Lewis is the first to sign on, playing a prospector who strikes it rich in crude oil. But what seems like his winning piece of the American Dream soon corrupts and destroys him.
Anderson plans a shoot kicking off in May in Texas and New Mexico.
