Already at work on her follow-up film after Trainwreck, Amy Schumer has been developing several potential new movies and has now joined a comedy called Who Invited Her?
Set up at Universal, the film finds an overbearing woman who forces her way into her male best friend's stag (or bachelor party for those in the States) weekend. Given some of the characters Schumer has played on her sketch series Inside Amy Schumer, an obnoxious, over-eager woman seems like something she can work with.
And talking of the show, Schumer is bringing sister/co-producer Kim Caramele on boards alongside Tami Sagher, who works on the series and will re-write the script that was originally by John Phillips and Sacha Rothchild. The film was once set up at DreamWorks by Reese Witherspoon, who is staying involved as a producer.
As for Schumer, her next film, an untitled mother-daughter holiday-gone-wrong comedy, is set to start shooting this summer with Jonathan Levine in the director's chair. The actress, who also worked on the script with Caramele, will star alongside Goldie Hawn, Christopher Meloni and Tom Bateman. And she also has a small role in Jason Hall's PTSD drama Thank You For Your Service.
