Mother-daughter films usually involve bonding over weddings, family trauma or relationship issues. Amy Schumer's latest, Snatched has the issues, but piles on the trauma as she and her screen mother Goldie Hawn are kidnapped. Check out the new trailer.
Schumer plays the impetuous Emily Middleton, who decides, after her boyfriend dumps her on the eve of their exotic vacation, to take the trip anyway. Emily persuades her cautious mother Linda (Hawn) to accompany her, but doesn't count on meeting a man (Tom Bateman), which in turn leads to her and her mother being kidnapped.
A crazed jungle adventure ensues, during which the mother-daughter pair have to work out their issues, and find a way to escape. With Ike Barinholtz, Wanda Sykes and Randall Park also in the cast, Snatched is directed by Jonathan Levine, working from a script by Katie Dippold that saw some attention from Schumer and regular co-writer/sister Kim Caramele. The movie will arrive on 12 May.
