Amy Poehler and Tina Fey like working together almost as much as they enjoy being friends. That’s always been abundantly clear, especially when they get the chance to co-host awards shows. As part of their quest to keep collaborating (hopefully just a cog in their plan for world domination), Poehler is looking to step aboard Fey’s new cinematic comedyThe Nest.
According to Showbiz 411, Poehler is set to co-produce and co-star in the film with Fey, who has been developing the script with Saturday Night Live writer Paula Pell. Pitch Perfect director Jason Moore is calling the shots on the film, which finds two sisters coming home to discover that their parents are selling the family home and moving to a small condo. Therefore, the girls will need to find alternative lodgings now that the “nest” is no longer open to them.
To drown their sorrows about the loss of their family home, they decide to spend a last wild weekend there together, feuding, feasting and possibly even finding a little maturity. If all goes well, the film should be shooting this June in New York.
Fey is on our screens now in Muppets Most Wanted and will next be seen in Shawn Levy’s This Is Where I Leave You. Poehler remains the star of ace US sitcom Parks & Recreation and has a few projects incoming including David Wain’s rom-com spoof They Came Together and Pixar’s Inside Out, which arrives next year and sees her playing the embodiment of a young girl’s joy emotions.
