Last month, we learned that Joe Wright had lined up a new potential directorial gig: a Hitchcockian thriller called The Woman In The Window. Amy Adams is now attached to star.
Pulitzer Prizewinner Tracey Letts is adapting AJ Finn's bestseller, which has a definite Rear Window vibe. The story follows Dr. Anna Fox (Adams), who spends her time hiding away in her New York home, drinking too much, watching old movies and spying on her neighbours.
But when she starts focusing on the seemingly perfect Russell family across the way, she witnesses something she shouldn't have. Which is when things get dangerous...
Fox 2000 is backing the film, which represents one of Wright's ongoing projects, and with this casting, The Woman In The Window leaps to the front of his To Do list.
Adams is the lead (and a producer) for the HBO adaptation of Sharp Objects, and is also playing Lynne Cheney in Adam McKay's new film about former US Vice President Dick Cheney.
