Most recently famous off camera for getting into legal hot water with Australian authorities for bringing the dogs she shares with Johnny Depp into the country illegally while he was shooting the latest Pirates Of The Caribbean entry, Amber Heard is reportedly in early negotiations for some very different, much more cinematic depths: she may end up co-starring in Aquaman with Jason Momoa.
According to The Hollywood Reporter's sources, Heard is in talks to play Mera, a comic book love interest of Momoa's Aquaman and the future queen of Atlantis. She first appeared in the DC canon in 1963 and she has powers of her own, including the ability to control water.
This being the current superhero movie shared universe climate, she may, if she signs, end up being introduced in Zack Snyder's planned first Justice League film alongside the likes of Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot. Part one of the two League films is scheduled for late 2017, with James Wan developing Aquaman's first stand-alone outing for a mid-2018 release.
Heard, on UK screens now in The Danish Girl, is also playing Nicola Six in the Martin Amis adaptation London Fields, which has yet to set a solid release date.
