It's turning into a busy time for director Tate Taylor. He's finishing up work on Blumhouse thriller Ma, is kicking off filming Eve and is now attached to make dark comedy Breaking News In Yuma County. Allison Janney and Laura Dern are on board to star in the new film.

Amanda Idoko wrote the script, which will see Janney as a woman who secretly buries her husband after he dies of a heart attack when she catches him in bed with another woman — and who then finds she’s becoming a celebrity amid the search for her husband, who is presumed to be missing. Dern will play her sister, a local news anchor who’s desperate to get the real story.

Shades of Gone Girl, then, albeit with an even darker and comic twist. Working with Janney marks just the latest reunion for Taylor and one of the stars of The Help after Octavia Spencer (Ma) and Jessica Chastain Eve. "The moment I read Amanda’s dark and brilliant script I knew it was the one for Allison," he says. "She and I have been searching since The Help for something big to do. So have Laura and I."

With Jake Gyllenhaal among the producers, the cameras will start rolling in the middle of next year.
