It’s been months since the first trailer dropped for Alita: Battle Angel, Robert Rodriguez’s live-action adaptation of the famed 1990s cyberpunk manga and anime, depicting a future world of bounty hunters, mech spiders, and a mysterious amnesiac cyborg. And while that initial look teased some bold visuals and sowed the seeds of the plot, there’s plenty more to get your (possibly gigantic) eyes around in this second trailer which reveals much more of Alita’s world.

You can also check out a brand new exclusive image from the film here, as Alita makes an important discovery.

The film stars Rosa Salazar as the titular woman-machine hybrid found in a scrapyard by Christoph Waltz’s Dr. Ido. Not remembering any of her old life, Alita searches for answers – while a group of modified hunter-warriors attempt to track her down. Thankfully she’s got some nifty fight moves up her sleeves.

The film was originally set for adaptation by James Cameron, who produces and co-writes here, and will mark Rodriguez’s first film since Sin City: A Dame To Kill For. We spoke to Rodriguez all about Alita’s fascinating world, which you can read about right here, and we’ll get to see the full film when it arrives in UK cinemas on 26 December.
