We're used to seeing him in front of the camera in the likes of the Now You See Me films and Bad Neighbours comedies, but Dave Franco is stepping behind it for his directorial debut, The Rental. He's lined up Alison Brie, Dan Stevens, Sheila Vand and Jeremy Allen White to star.
Scripted by Franco alongside Digging For Fire/Drinking Buddies writer/director Joe Swanberg, The Rental will see the foursome as two couples who rent a vacation home for what is planned as a celebratory weekend getaway. But as the genre – horror thriller – might suggest, things don't go exactly to plan.
Black Bear Pictures has dug down the back of the sofa cushions for the cash to make the film, and Franco should have the cameras rolling next month in Oregon.
