Ridley Scott’s follow-up to Prometheus, Alien: Covenant, finds a colony ship scouring the galaxy for… well, nothing friendly at any rate. The movie is officially a year from its release date and to mark the countdown the marketing bods have put together a short (and we do mean short) Facebook clip showing franchise newcomer Katherine Waterston in hypersleep. Watch it here.
The film finds colony ship The Covenant headed for a remote planet, a place that the crew initially thinks is an uncharted paradise. And the only inhabitant appears to be synthetic life form David (Michael Fassbender), who claims to be the lone survivor of the Prometheus mission. Is he telling the truth? Probably not, given Noomi Rapace's apparent presence on the cast list – unless she's just there for flashback duty?
Alongside Waterston, Fassbender and Rapace, Scott has Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Jussie Smolett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, Callie Hernandez and Billy Crudup aboard this one, and Alien: Covenant will land here on August 4 next year.
